Dr. Melvin James is a highly accomplished consultant, trainer, administrator, keynote speaker, and author. He is a Licensed Psychotherapist, a Certified Mediator, and a Mental Health Expert Witness, with degrees in chemistry, theology, counseling, and a cognate in management. He brings a systemic and strategic approach to the above areas of consultation when he consults or conducts training with various organizations. He has taught consultation at the doctoral level.

Rev. James has written a seminal book, “God bless America” which examines the intersections of American Identity, Racism, Social Justice, Legal Justice, Democracy, Religion, Economics, Politics, and International Relations, through the lens of social justice, truth, and compassion.

Dr. James holds a B.S. in chemistry and theology; an M.A. in clinical counseling: an Ed.S. in counseling with a cognate in Management; and a Ph.D. from the University of Florida in Counselor Education. He retired from the University of South Florida as the Director of the Division of Health Professions Advising and an Adjunct Professor. He has over 30 years of consulting and training experience.

Dr. James is a Licensed Psychotherapist: a Florida Clinical Supervisor of the Board of Clinical Social Work, Mental Health and Marriage and Family Therapists; a Florida Certified Adult Forensic Evaluator; and a Fellow of the Academy of Clinical Sexologists.
